Candidate Profiles

Timothy Huber stands for a fiscally sound government, strong education system, workersÕ rights, and job growth.

Timothy HuberÕs plan:

n Fiscally sound government Ñ Put automatic cuts in the budget when state taxes are coming in short. The first is to cut all state elected officesÕ pay by 10 percent. Secondly, the state would pay all interest on past due funds to local governments. Thirdly, when the state cuts taxes, we should not just shift the tax down line.

n Strong education system Ñ DonÕt cut funding while at the same time raising the bar. Second, student funding needs to be paid on student enrollment throughout the year, but control huge losses from any school system at one time.

n WorkersÕ rights Ñ All workers should have the right to organize. All workers should be able to get unemployment if they meet qualifications.

n Job growth Ñ Help with training and tax restructuring, but not causing hardships on local tax base.
