HCCF Youth Council opens first grant cycle

The Hendricks County Community Foundation’s youth philanthropy council, Hands Helping Hendricks (H3O), has begun accepting online applications for grants to be awarded April 25 at the HCCF’s annual Celebration Dinner.

Hands Helping Hendricks provides grants to charitable organizations or projects done by youth or benefiting the youth of Hendricks County. Guidelines and instructions for H3O’s grants may be found online at www.hendrickscountycf.org/youth. Eligible organizations and projects can receive grants of up to $500.

The grant applications are due no later than March 28 and must be submitted online.

H3O’s mission is to improve the community and educate youth through the ways of philanthropy by giving grants to and serving charitable organizations.

As a program of the Hendricks County Community Foundation, H3O is designed to give youth in Hendricks County an inside view of grantmaking. Youth are tasked with fundraising, grant writing and reading, marketing, and volunteer service. The council is made up of middle and high school students from all six Hendricks County high schools.

The Hendricks County Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life in Hendricks County by helping donors match their passion with community needs, awarding grants to non-profit organizations and projects, and collaborating to address community issues. The foundation manages an $8 million collection of funds that were created by individuals, families, businesses, and organizations for charitable purposes.
