Indians host family day at Victory Field

INDIANAPOLIS — This year’s Hendricks County Family Day at Victory Field starts at 1:35 p.m. June 23 as the Indianapolis Indians take on the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

This annual event is sponsored by Metropolis, Visit Hendricks County, and Hendricks Regional Health.

All Hendricks County residents may purchase special two-for-one tickets online at IndyIndians.com or in person at Victory Field using the promo code “Hendricks.”

Vouchers are also available at Metropolis, Visit Hendricks County, and Hendricks Regional Health.

As an added bonus, because it’s a Sunday, children ages 14 and younger will receive a voucher when they enter the stadium for a free lunch, which includes a hot dog, bag of chips, and a bottle of water.

This is the first time the event will be held on a weekend instead of the traditional weeknight game.

“We’re so excited that we were able to have this event during a weekend day game this year to hopefully provide an opportunity for more Hendricks County families to enjoy Indians baseball,” said Lance Angle, general manager of Metropolis Mall. “We’re proud supporters of this day because it’s such a great community event.”

The certificates can be exchanged at the Indians Box Office for tickets prior to or on the day of the event. Guests can choose from $10 outfield lawn seats, $11 reserved or $15 box seats.

“The Indianapolis Indians have long appreciated the support we have received from the civic and business leaders of Hendricks County,” said Cal Burleson, vice president and general manager of the Indianapolis Indians. “Our thanks to Metropolis Mall, Hendricks Regional Health, and Visit Hendricks County for providing this wonderful opportunity to Hendricks County residents.”

Participants are encouraged to stop by the Metropolis Mall and Hendricks Regional Health booths in center field prior to the game for special goodies and chances to win prizes.
