But U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s recent proposal to deal with it won’t solve the problem. It is a cheap ploy to divert attention from the real problem.

It is appropriate that the worst scandal of the Obama administration — the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservatives — is a scandal of administrators and bureaucrats, of otherwise faceless people endowed with immense power over their fellow citizens and running free of serious oversight from elected officials.
Because I am a With-It type guy who is Down with all the latest Technostuff, I recently agreed to teach an online summer class for one of my local universities, which shall remain nameless but whose initials are IUPUI.

As a Christian man who tries to live within the boundaries of my professed faith, I will be the first to admit I miss the mark on many occasion. Many more than I care to admit. That being said, part of reaching out is a defense of faith through letters to the editor. One I recently wrote touched a nerve in many and the responses, two negative ones in particular, were published on consecutive days.
For those looking for insight on the scandals engulfing the Obama administration, read “Boss,” Mike Royko’s classic 1971 biography of former Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley.
President Barack Obama has been mocked for learning about untoward conduct in his administration from the press. But he’s on the ball compared with his attorney general, who wouldn’t know about his own poor judgment without reading about it in the papers.
Let’s hope he has a Google alert set for “Eric Holder.”
Good news guys; full beards are in style, and just in time for the blistering heat of summer. Thanks to pop-culture and scraggily celebrities, a full face of hair is now a fashion trend.

Obamacare is coming! Obamacare is coming!
If you’re a Democrat, you’re looking over your shoulder heading into the 2014 Affordable Care Act installation (and mid-term elections) and pointing out that people with pre-existing conditions will be covered, there will no longer be annual limits for coverage received, and that college kids can stay on their parents’ plan until age 27.

A former Elkhart Truth colleague of mine – the grizzled police reporter David Schreiber – used to say that you could sum up 90 percent of crime in four categories: Greed and gross greed; stupidity and gross stupidity.
When it comes to political corruption, I might add three other categories to explain another 8 or 9 percent: Ambition and gross ambition, and just plain laziness.
