To the Editor:

I was excited to hear about the new online bill pay at the Hendricks County Assessor's Office for my property taxes until I found out that they are charging $0.95 for eCheck.

If they were really concerned about being eco friendly (as their website states) then they would make the fee at least as cheap as a

stamp.

I can't believe after being charged nearly $4,000 in taxes that they

can't handle the $0.95 "eco friendly" fee so that I could have the

convenience of paying my bill online.

It sounds more like an inconvenience fee than a convenience fee.

I guess my check will be in the mail …

Concerned Tax Payer,

Rick England

  • Brent Glasgow Sherman, Miller apples of the same tree

There was a wide array of reactions to Seattle DB Richard Sherman’s post-game “interview” with Erin Andrews following the Seahawks’ NFC title win over San Francisco.

Mine? Laughter, as the shout-down was the most entertaining thing I saw all day.

Butler is still a long way from saving its 2013-14 men’s basketball season, but if the Bulldogs turn it around fully and reach the NCAA Tournament, it will have started this past Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
