— To the Editor:
I am writing this letter to thank and to acknowledge the great and swift job that the Wayne Township Fire Department did, as well as the ambulance, in responding to a medical emergency in our household on May 15.
There was a political refugee who was staying at our house for a couple of days when her condition had suddenly deteriorated and went downhill and the EMS people had to be called in quickly.
Not once, but also a second time that day, due to an elderly person staying at our house.
And since the refugee who was in need of medical attention was from China and had spent the last six years in Thailand before coming here, communication proved to also be a bit of a challenge.
Thankfully, the medical professionals who had responded to the situation in our house also had a computerized translator with their equipment, which was also a great aid in diagnosing the problem to be dealt with.
All four of the staff were most attentive to all of the little details and handled the situation very calmly and professionally.
Thanks to one and all for your kind help and caring.
