— To the Editor:
Sen. Pete Miller says those who oppose homosexual marriage are unwelcoming.
The effort of homosexuals to be accepted, as unsinful, dates visibly to 1979 at the latest.
Pete Miller, our representative in the 33-seat Indiana Senate, professes to be against same sex marriage. But he cannot be with these comments.
The issue is one of conviction, not expedience or popularity. Eli Lilly, Cummins Engine, have nothing to do with it, any more than money or profit does. It is an issue of Biblical interpretation, Scriptural belief.
Indiana has Hoosier hospitality, for all sinners. Just don't ask us to declare wrong right, right wrong. That, too, is unbiblical.
We love others. Don't tell us we do not, please.
We are a county of family values. We ask our elected officers to speak plainly, to represent who we are. Not to test the wind.
