Prom dress sale benefits many

High school girls from at least six schools recently shopped at the third annual Girls’ Prom Essentials Sale sponsored by Avon High School’s Interact Club.

Students experienced stylish fashions at bargain basement prices.

Over 400 donated dresses, shoes and accessories created a selection that impressed and pleased all shoppers.

This successful project is helping Interact meet two important goals: To help girls have their dream prom at affordable prices and to support the residents of Sheltering Wings.

After the sale a group from the Interact Club and its sponsoring organization Avon Rotary presented a check for over $1,050 to Cassie Martin, executive director of Sheltering Wings, also an Avon High School alum.

In the three years the event has been held, Interact has presented a total of $3,450 to support the residents of the shelter in achieving healthy independence.
