Historical society hosting luncheon

The 2014 Jackson Township Historical Society’s Ladies Luncheon will be held May 17 at Cochran’s Banquet Hall in Jamestown.

This year’s program will feature Sally Shattuck of Pittsboro, who will present a program entitled “Twelve Oils of Ancient Scripture.”

She will explain how these ancient oils were used in Bible times and how they are still used today.

Shattuck will have samples for all to smell and feel.

Ticket prices will remain the same as last year, $15 (non-refundable), and will be available for purchase at the North Salem State Bank, the Tri-Area Library, or by calling Cookie Leeke at (765) 676-5379 or Janet Beam at (765) 676-5891.

The doors will open at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Door prizes will be given.

This is only one of two fundraisers held by the Jackson Township Historical Society.
