Econ Club welcomes Pulitzer winner

Eugene Robinson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author, and media analyst will be the featured luncheon speaker for the Economic Club of Indiana’s March 21 program.

The club’s series of luncheon forums begin at noon at the Indiana Convention Center, 100 S. Capital Ave.

Robinson is a syndicated opinion columnist with The Washington Post, a contributor to the PostPartisan blog, and an MSNBC analyst. In his three-decade career with the Post, he has served as city hall reporter, city editor, foreign correspondent in Buenos Aires and London, foreign editor, and assistant managing editor in charge of the paper’s style section. In 2009, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for commentary for his coverage of the 2008 Presidential election. He is the author of several books, including his most recent publication, Disintegration: The Splintering of Black America.

Prior to his arrival at The Washington Post in 1980, Robinson worked at the San Francisco Chronicle for four years. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he was the first black student to be named co-editor-in-chief of the school’s award-winning newspaper, The Michigan Daily. Robinson serves on the board of the International Women’s Media Foundation and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
