Danville resident enlists in U.S. Air Force

Matthew R. Garner of Danville recently enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

Upon successful completion of the Air Force’s six-week basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, Garner is scheduled to receive training in the general area as a survival, evasion, resistance, and escape training apprentice. He enlisted under the Air Force Bonus Program and upon completion of his technical training will receive a $3,000 bonus.

Garner will be earning credits toward an associate degree in applied sciences through the Community College of the Air Force while attending basic and technical training schools.
