Wanda (Cooksey) and Larry Vandeventer of Plainfield will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception April 27 hosted by their children.
They were married Feb. 7, 1958, in Worthington.
Mr. Vandeventer is a graduate education professor at Indiana Wesleyan University. He retired from the Avon Community School Corporation as an assistant superintendent. He is also a columnist and has published five books.
Mrs. Vandeventer retired as the secretary of the Westlake Church of Christ.
They are both members of Plainfield Christian Church. She also is a member of Pollyanna Home Extension Club, Hendricks County Extension Chorus, and the Friendly Garden Club.
They are the parents to Kristi (Keith) Miedema of Fairfield, Ohio, and Sharla (Todd) Carter of Floyds Knobs. They are the grandparents of Audrey Grace Carter, 6, and Tess Marie Carter, 2.
