Delbert and Ruth Simmons will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their family from 2 to 4 p.m. March 29 at Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Rd.
Mr. Simmons retired from Local 440 as a welder-steamfitter after 43 years. Mrs. Simmons is a homemaker. They spent the majority of their lives residing in Hazelwood. Both are members of Plainfield Christian Church.
They are the parents and in-laws of Charlotte and Dan Johnson of Crown Point, Annice and Darrell Wright of Elburn, Ill., and Mervin and Mary Ann Simmons of Clayton. They have six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
