Gordmans completed the first of three job fairs Friday. The company plans to initially hire 120 people, eventually creating a second shift and more mass hirings for the Clayton area.
Ashley George, Human Resource Manager for the new Gordmans facility at 1801 Innovation Boulevard in Clayton says Gordmans distribution center is “different than other warehouse concepts.”
One difference is the product itself. Gordmans offers merchandise sold in department and specialty stores at up to 60 percent off in an upscale environment dealing with mainly softline and smallware goods.
Therefore, many new hires will be hanging up clothing versus handling heavy boxes consistently.
Another difference that separates Gordmans from other distribution centers is the culture. George says, the company “has an amazing culture” and “a vast dedication to training and employee engagement”.
Gordmans works four, ten-hour days with Friday’s off. Full benefits are offered after 90 days and a competitive salary to start.
Hiring begins June 1 and every week after until positions have been filled. Gordmans is conducting an additional job fair at the Clayton distribution center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
Applicants can visit an upcoming job fair to gather more information and fill out their application via Gordmans.com/careers.
