The state’s Recycling Market Development Program (RMDP) has been authorized to release $600,000 in grant funds to aid recycling businesses and boost economic development in Indiana.
Recycling businesses have until Aug. 1 to apply for the grants that are aimed at helping purchase equipment for manufacturing recycled materials into new products.
Recycling involves finding uses for existing materials and developing consumer markets for recycled-content products. The grants help promote the concept of collecting, using and producing recyclable materials in Indiana.
A Recycling Market Development Grant should be considered by businesses that want to add equipment to help reduce waste streams or expand the use of recycled-content material in the manufacturing process.
Grants will range from $25,000 up to $200,000 with a required 50 percent match.
Businesses that have current RMDP projects will not be eligible to apply for this round. The Recycling Market Development Board will make final funding determinations of eligible projects by November.
