New technology aids travel advisors

Travel advisors have always been valued resources to savvy travelers planning their next great vacation. Now, Cruise Planners-American Express Travel franchises have even more technology and tools to secure added value for their clients, as announced at Cruise Planners’ annual convention last month in Florida.

In front of more than 500 travel advisors, Cruise Planners unveiled its latest technology, making booking travel more efficient for the travel advisor and even more seamless for travelers. The new Value Tracker tool is able to alert travel advisors when fares change, added amenities are offered, or upgrades are available. With this new technology, Cruise Planners travel advisors have provided more than $1.2 million in added value since it launched in May.

Mike and Jenifer Laver of Plainfield attended the convention and participated in a series of educational sessions from travel industry experts.

“Returning from convention has inspired me to customize the best itineraries to the most desired destinations, creating memorable vacations for all,” Jenifer Laver said in a press release. “With our new, amazing technological innovations, my clients can now get great service and feel confident I will find the best value for their cruise or land vacation.”

The land portion of the national convention was jam-packed with announcements, an exclusive 20th anniversary celebration at Florida’s Marlins Park, and partner presentations. Then, the group set sail on the North American debut of the Royal Princess out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for two nights, which introduced the travel advisors to the newest ship in Princess Cruises’ fleet.
