Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. recently announced the transfer of Doug Hisel to general manager of its Plainfield store. Hisel has been with the company since December 2007, most recently as general manager in Frankfort, Ky.
Before joining Cracker Barrel, he had 12 years of experience in the restaurant industry.
As general manager of the Plainfield store, Hisel will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day business.
The Plainfield Cracker Barrel is at I-70 and State Road 267 and features a working cobblestone fireplace; a retail store with nostalgic favorites, gifts, and collectibles; and traditional, homemade food.
Popular dishes include meatloaf and homemade chicken n’ dumplins, as well as its made-from-scratch biscuits using an old family recipe.
The first Cracker Barrel Old Country Store was opened near Lebanon, Tenn., about 30 miles east of Nashville, in September 1969. For 19 consecutive years, Restaurants & Institutions magazine named Cracker Barrel “Best in Family Dining” among chain restaurants. In 2011, Nation’s Restaurant News conducted its first annual “Consumer Picks” survey in which consumers selected Cracker Barrel first place in Family-Dining Restaurants.
Every Cracker Barrel is open seven days a week — from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
