Plainfield State Bank of Lizton robbed, again

PLAINFIELD — The Plainfield Police Department is searching for a robbery suspect who entered the Plainfield State Bank of Lizton at about 3:20 p.m. today.

The bank is at 2100 Stafford Road, Plainfield.

Jill Lees, public information officer for the Plainfield Police Department, reported that a white male entered the bank and brandished a weapon. He was able to get money and escape the bank. The suspect was last seen heading west on Stafford Road.

Those with information are asked to call Det. Sgt. Brian Fowler at 839-8700.

Clarks Creek and Brentwood elementary schools were on a soft lockdown until 3:50 p.m. The end of the school day was delayed by about 20 minutes due to the incident.

The bank was robbed May 10 while the FBI Safe Streets Task Force had the facility under surveillance. In that incident, the FBI fatally wounded one suspect.
