Firefighters battle multiple mobile home blazes

Multiple mobile homes were damaged by fire early Wednesday.

Firefighters from the Mill Creek Fire Department were dispatched shortly before 12:30 a.m. on a report of a mobile home fire in the 2200 block of west U.S. 40. Lt. Troy Clements of the Danville Fire Department, which also was dispatched, said personnel arrived to find multiple mobile homes on fire.

Plainfield, North Salem, and Brownsburg firefighters also assisted.

Clements said the nearest hydrant was four miles away. Tanker trucks had to be called in. Initially five homes were involved. That was later updated to six.

No injuries have been reported. The fire's cause is still under investigation.
