BPD searching for robbery suspect

BROWNSBURG — Shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, Brownsburg Police were called to Advance America on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

According to information from the BPD, a female employee told officers that a female suspect entered the business alone and discussed applying for a payday loan. The employee believed that the suspect was going to leave, but instead she pulled a handgun out of the waistband of her pants and pointed it at the employee, demanding money.

Police say the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the scene on foot in a southwest direction.

The suspect was described as a white female, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with long brown curly hair in a ponytail, wearing a black hooded Under Armor sweatshirt with a red/pink Under Armor symbol on the front, and blue jeans.

The suspect is believed to be the same suspect that committed an armed robbery of an Advance America in Lafayette earlier in the day.

The BPD asks anyone who may be able to identify the suspect to contact BPD Det. Mike Gill by calling 852-1109 ext. 2139 or e-mailing to mgill@brownsburgpolice.org.
