Detectives investigate deaths of two adults found in hotel

INDIANAPOLIS —

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the deaths of an adult male and female found inside a hotel room.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Sunday, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of North High School Road on a report of two people down inside a hotel room.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male and female in a hotel room. EMS crews arrived on the scene and pronounced the two deceased.

Police have identified the male victim as 49-year-old Mark Kelley of Indianapolis. His family has been notified.

Hotel workers found the two individuals in the hotel room unresponsive and called police. Detectives believe that both individuals appear to have suffered at least one gunshot wound. No suspect information has been released yet.

The Marion-Indianapolis Forensic Services Agency is gathering evidence, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office will work to confirm the identities of both individuals and arrange transportation of the deceased. A final determination of the cause and manner of death will be determined by officials with the Marion Coroner’s Office after a scheduled autopsy expected to occur later this morning.
