DPD officer arrested

DANVILLE —

A Danville Police Department officer was taken into custody late Wednesday morning at the Indianapolis International Airport by U.S. Marshals as he exited a plane.

Chris Gill, 31, had previously been suspended from the Danville force, following an internal investigation after complaints were made against him.

According to officials, Gill is being held at the Vigo County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Information available stated that Gill’s bond from a previous incident in Vigo County has been revoked, resulting in his arrest.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Danville town officials declined to comment and calls made to the Danville Police Department were not returned as of press time.

Gill is the son of former Danville Police Chief Keith Gill, who was fired last week. Keith Gill recently told the Hendricks County Flyer that he had not been given a reason for his abrupt termination.

More information will be published as it becomes available.
