BPD seeks public help in finding robbery suspect

BROWNSBURG — At about 1 a.m. Friday, Brownsburg Police were summoned to the Village Pantry at 1471 S. Green St. in reference to a robbery that had just occurred.

When they arrived, officers found an employee in the office area of the facility. Police secured the business and confirmed from the employee that she had been robbed.

She told officers that a white man wearing a yellow ski mask and camouflage jacket entered the store and demanded cash from the register. The employee said she complied with the man’s orders.

She described him as being about 5’11” to 6’ tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds.

Once the man obtained the cash, the store clerk said he instructed her to go into the store’s office and lie down on the floor until he left.

Police say the suspect stole about $200.

BPD detectives obtained video surveillance footage of the robbery from the Village Pantry. They are requesting assistance from the public in helping to identify the suspect. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Det. Cpl. Jeff Klayer by calling 852-1109 ext. 2122 or by e-mailing to jklayer@brownsburgpolice.org.
