First responders have busy morning today

The Danville Fire Department worked an early morning fire today at an empty residence in the 2900 block of West U.S. 36.

Crews responded shortly before 7 a.m. and extinguished the fire in about half an hour.

Traffic was temporarily delayed as both eastbound and westbound motorists on U.S. 36 had to share one lane.

Shortly after 8 a.m. today the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department was called to a one-vehicle accident near the intersection of Cartersburg Road and U.S. 40, just west of Plainfield.

A caller had reported a white truck on its side on the north side of the road, just east of the intersection.

Fire and rescue crews responded but found the vehicle to be unoccupied.

No other information is available on either of these incidents at this time.
