Christmas eveservice planned

Spirit Life Church at 3737 North Raceway Road, will host a Christmas Eve service from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 24.

The church invites all children, family, and friends.

DUMC releases holiday schedule

The Danville United Methodist Church has released the 2013 Advent/Christmas schedule.

The Advent theme will be “A Living Nativity.”

The church offers a traditional worship service at 9 a.m. and a contemporary worship service at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Jeanne Winter’s sermon topics will be “Be like the humble donkey” on Dec. 1, “The obedient Joseph” on Dec. 8, Praising like Mary” on Dec. 15, and “Go and Tell Shepherds” on Dec. 22.

The Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 will include carols, communion, and candlelight services at 7 and 11 p.m. to support the sermon “The family celebrates the birth.”

DUMC offers blue Christmas service

For people having a hard time during the holiday, Danville United Methodist Church invites the public to its Blue Christmas Worship Service at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

There will be singing appropriate to the season and a safe environment to reflect on the pain, loneliness, and sadness that some people feel.

Plainfield Christianoffering classes

Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, offers step aerobics fitness classes from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Classes are offered year-round and are free of charge. No pre-registration is necessary. Childcare is provided for ages 1 through 11 at $1 per child.

The classes are taught to contemporary Christian music. All equipment is provided, which includes light weights, exercise mats, and aerobic benches. A short devotion and prayer time starts each class.
