Flags to be lowered in honor of victims

Gov. Mike Pence is directing flags at state facilities to be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims of Monday's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard.

Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset Friday.

Pence also asks businesses and residents across the state to lower their flags to half-staff to honor the victims of this tragedy.

President Barack Obama issued a proclamation on Monday requiring flags to be flown at half-staff "on all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the federal government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories and possessions” until sunset on Friday.
