Avon man ambushed by gunman at his home

AVON — A man here was ambushed and handcuffed in his garage by two armed men.

The incident occurred at about 5 a.m. when the man went to his workshop before going to work.

Officials with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department said a man approached the victim and a scuffle ensued until the second man put a gun to the homeowner’s head.

The homeowner was then taken behind the garage and handcuffed. The men demanded money, but the homeowner didn’t have any so the suspects took him inside his house to get his wallet.

The men then took the homeowners pickup truck and other items. Officials said the man was not injured, but was punched during the altercation.

Police are looking for the homeowners 2012 white Ford F-250 crew cab with the license plate TK591LRX. The truck has a label for “Indiana Foundation Service” on the side.

One suspect is described as a black male who stood 6 foot 3 inches tall and weighing about 260 with a goatee and stocky build. The other suspect is described as a thin, light-skinned black male who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall. Both men wore puffy jackets and hoodies.
