Harold F. “Butch” and Sharon (Heeke) Kennedy of Brownsburg are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married April 28, 1962, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
Mr. Kennedy is originally from Beech Grove, and Mrs. Kennedy is from the southside of Indianapolis. The lived in Indianapolis until moving to Brownsburg in late 2002.
Mrs. Kennedy graduated from the former St. John Academy. She retired as an administrative assistant in the life and health insurance field. She has been a genealogist for 35 years and is a member of several geneaological societies.
Mr. Kennedy graduated from the University of Indianapolis and retired from Union Carbide Corp/PraxAir, where he had worked in the business/financial departments. He is a National Senior’s Softball League player.
Both are affiliated with the Catholic church.
They are the parents of Deborah (Curt) Mikulla of Carmel, Brian (Jonna) Kennedy of Lakewood, Colo., and James (Michelle) Kennedy of Indianapolis. They are the great-grandparents of Anna and Christopher Kennedy of Lakewood, Colo.
To mark their anniversary, their children are hosting a party at the Northside Knights of Columbus Hall.
